Draft pending legal review

This is a plain-language first draft. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before the course launches.

Terms of use

Version 2026-10-05-draft · Last updated 5 October 2026

These terms explain the agreement between you and AI Learner ("we", "us") when you create an account and take Working With LLMs or any other course on this site. They are written to be read. If something is unclear, ask us before you pay.

1. Your account

  • You need to be 18 or older to create an account.
  • Give us your real name and an email address you can read. Your certificate uses the name you give us.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it.
  • You can be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in somewhere new signs you out everywhere else. This protects your account and keeps the course fair for everyone.
  • Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

2. What you get

Some lessons are free to preview once you have an account. Paying for a course gives you access to all of its lessons, exercises and checks, and the chance to earn a certificate. We will keep a course you have paid for available to you for at least 12 months from the date you pay. We may update lessons to keep them accurate; we will not take away a substantial part of a course you have paid for.

3. Paying with M-Pesa

  • Prices are in Kenya shillings and are shown before you pay.
  • You pay through M-Pesa. When you start a payment, Safaricom sends a prompt to the phone number you give us and you confirm it with your M-Pesa PIN. We never see or store your PIN.
  • Your access starts once M-Pesa confirms the payment to us. This usually takes under a minute.
  • If money leaves your M-Pesa account but your course does not open, contact us with the M-Pesa confirmation message. We check every payment against M-Pesa's records and will either give you access or refund you.

4. Refunds

If the course is not right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of paying. We will refund the full amount to the M-Pesa number you paid from, as long as you have not earned the certificate. Refunds are handled by a person, so allow up to 7 working days. Your access ends when the refund is made. This does not affect any rights you have under Kenyan consumer law.

5. The AI in this course

  • Many exercises send what you type to an AI model run by Anthropic, a company based outside Kenya, and show you its reply. The privacy notice explains what that means for your data.
  • AI replies and AI feedback on your answers are produced automatically. They are always labelled as AI output. They can be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent; that is part of what the course teaches you to notice. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice.
  • Each exercise has a limit on how many times you can run it, and there are daily and per-course allowances. When you reach a limit, the exercise switches to a recorded example or a self-check, so you can always finish the course.
  • Do not paste other people's personal information, passwords or anything confidential into an exercise.

6. Fair use

When using the site, please do not:

  • share, copy, resell or publish the course materials;
  • try to get around usage limits, payments or access controls, or to reach other people's data;
  • use the AI exercises to produce content that is unlawful, abusive or meant to harm others;
  • use automated tools to scrape the site or overload it.

If you break these terms we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.

7. Certificates

You earn a certificate by passing the course's checks. Each certificate has a public page where anyone with its link or serial number can confirm it is genuine. We may withdraw a certificate that was earned dishonestly, for example by someone else doing the checks.

8. Your work and ours

What you write in the course stays yours. You allow us to store it and process it to run the course for you, give you feedback and keep the service working and safe. We do not sell it and we do not use it to train AI models. The lessons, exercises, recordings and design of the site belong to us or our licensors; you may use them for your own learning only.

9. Closing your account

You can ask us to close your account at any time. The privacy notice explains what we delete and what we must keep. Closing an account does not by itself entitle you to a refund outside section 4.

10. Our responsibility to you

We work to keep the site available and the course accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. As far as Kenyan law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the course concerned. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

The version and date at the top tell you which terms you are reading. If we make a change that matters, we will ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya can hear any dispute about them. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to put things right.
